Our Programs

Stay Wild, Star Child!

From our littlest Mountain Chickadees to our growing Starlings and Sparrows, and our older girls of Fourfold Sisterhood, Seedlings Kindertribe creates spaces where children can learn through nature, play, creativity, meaningful relationships, and the changing rhythms of the seasons.

At Seedlings, we believe there is no single way to learn and no need to rush childhood. Our programs are designed to meet children where they are developmentally while giving them something every child needs: time to play, explore, connect, and simply be.

Mountain Chickadees

Ages 2-3 | Monday-Friday | 8:30 AM-3:30 PM | Half day options

A gentle beginning for our littlest explorers.

Mountain Chickadees is our small early childhood class created especially for children ages 2–3 who are beginning their journey into a group learning environment.

Our youngest Seedlings experience a gentle, predictable rhythm filled with outdoor exploration, imaginative play, sensory experiences, songs, stories, movement, art, and simple hands-on activities.

At this age, learning begins with connection, imitation, movement, play, and wonder. We give children time to build confidence, practice growing independence, form their first friendships, and discover the joy of being part of a community.

Our Chickadees spend their days singing songs, getting their hands dirty, gathering treasures from nature, and experiencing the simple magic of being outside.

Seedlings Outdoor Learning

Ages 3-8 | Monday-Friday | 8:30 AM-3:30 PM | Half day options

A Fully Licensed Colorado Outdoor Nature-Based Preschool!

Seedlings Outdoor Learning is the heart of our nature-based preschool community.

Our fully licensed Colorado outdoor nature-based preschool gives children ages 3-8 the opportunity to spend their days learning and playing primarily outdoors, surrounded by the beauty of Northern Colorado.

Our preschool community includes our Starlings and Sparrows classes, where children are supported in developing confidence, independence, creativity, social-emotional skills, and a deep connection to the natural world.

Our approach is inspired by Waldorf early childhood education, outdoor schooling, and nature-based learning. Rather than separating learning into isolated academic subjects, we allow learning to emerge naturally through meaningful experiences.

Children spend their day:

  • Engaging in a seasonal circle time with movements and songs

  • Building forts and creating imaginary worlds

  • Climbing, balancing, running, digging, and exploring

  • Gardening and caring for living things

  • Creating art with natural materials

  • Listening to stories and singing songs

  • Working with wood and other hands-on materials

  • Observing insects, birds, plants, weather, and seasonal changes

  • Playing cooperatively and learning to navigate friendships

  • Taking appropriate risks and developing physical confidence

  • Exploring their own questions and interests

  • Celebrating the changing seasons through festivals and special traditions

Our Teaching Philosophy

Our teaching philosophy is rooted in the warmth of Waldorf Education and centered on the belief that, in order to thrive, children need nature, imagination, meaningful relationships, and plenty of time for free play.

We believe early childhood is a precious stage of life that should be honored, not rushed. Young children learn through their senses, movement, imitation, play, and hands-on experiences. Rather than pushing academics too early, we nurture the foundations of lifelong learning - curiosity, creativity, confidence, resilience, empathy, and a love of learning.

Our teachers strive to be positive role models, modeling kindness, patience, respect, and a deep love and appreciation for the Earth and all living things. We believe that the way we treat children, one another, and our natural world is part of the curriculum.

Nature is one of our greatest teachers. Our children spend meaningful time outdoors exploring, imagining, building, gardening, creating, and discovering. We believe that before children can become caretakers of the Earth, they must first have the opportunity to fall in love with it.

Our curriculum provides non-academic, highly educational, hands-on learning experiences through art, music, storytelling, movement, nature exploration, and imaginative play. We trust children to learn through experience, and we give them the time and space to wonder, discover, and grow.

Fourfold Sisterhood

Ages 8-16 | After-School Community for Girls

Where Girls Gather, Grow & Remember Their Magic.

Fourfold Sisterhood is a nature-based after-school community for girls ages 8-16.

Created as a space for girls to build meaningful friendships, explore creativity, develop confidence, and connect with themselves and the natural world, Fourfold Sisterhood celebrates the beautiful journey of growing up.

Through seasonal activities, sister circles, special events, creative experiences, camps, and time in nature, girls are given space to slow down, connect, laugh, create, and simply be themselves.

Our programming follows the rhythms of the seasons and creates opportunities for girls to explore themes of friendship, self-discovery, creativity, courage, nature, and belonging.

Rooted in sisterhood, nature, and magic.

Nature-Based Learning for Homeschool Families

For families choosing to homeschool, Seedlings offers additional nature-schooling enrichment opportunities throughout the year.

These experiences provide homeschool children with opportunities to gather in community, spend meaningful time outdoors, explore nature, participate in hands-on learning, and build friendships with other children.

Programming may include nature exploration, seasonal studies, art, science, gardening, outdoor skills, creative projects, special workshops, and other hands-on experiences. Because our enrichment offerings can vary throughout the year, the best way to learn about current opportunities is to reach out to us directly.

Not All Classrooms Have Four Walls

At Seedlings, being outdoors isn't simply an activity or a break from the classroom - it is an essential part of how children learn and grow.

Our environment is thoughtfully prepared to invite movement, exploration, imagination, creativity, problem-solving, and connection. We give children the time and freedom to engage with their surroundings in meaningful ways and allow their curiosity to lead the way.

β†’ A child working through a disagreement with a friend is learning cooperation and empathy.

β†’ A child caring for a garden is developing responsibility and connection to the Earth.

β†’ A child quietly observing a bird is learning patience, awareness, and wonder.

β†’ And a child sitting in the grass completely fascinated by a tiny beetle? They are learning, too.

At Seedlings, nature is our classroom, play is our work, and wonder is where learning begins!

Our Learning Environment

Nature is Our Classroom, With Cozy Spaces to Come Home to

At Seedlings, the outdoors is at the heart of our learning environment. Children spend their days exploring, imagining, creating, moving, and connecting with the natural world. But we also believe in having cozy, welcoming spaces where children can gather, create, rest, and find shelter when the weather calls for it.

A beautiful geodesic dome classroom provides an indoor gathering space that is immersed by nature. It gives us a beautiful place for stories, music, art, special activities, and quiet moments while still keeping us connected to the outdoors.

Both spaces also serve as emergency weather shelters, allowing us to continue our rhythm of learning and community during Colorado's changing weather. We don't see these spaces as replacements for our outdoor classroom, but as extensions of it - places to gather when we need warmth, shelter, or a change of pace before heading back outside to explore. At Seedlings, children have the best of both worlds: the freedom of the great outdoors and the comfort of cozy spaces to gather, create, and connect.

Our Approach

Let Them Be Little | Let Them Be Wild

Nature is something that is missing in traditional schooling today. We really wanted to carve out a space for children to spend the whole day outside, exploring the natural world. This is a place where they can run wild and free, listening to the birds sing as they get their hands dirty in the garden.

Our teaching philosophy is rooted in the warmth of Waldorf Education, and centered in the belief that in order to thrive, children need nature, imagination, and free play. We believe in guiding young children by being positive role models, showing kindness to all living creatures, and a deep love and appreciation for the Earth.

Our curriculum is designed with the preschool-aged child in mind. We provide non-academic, educational, hands-on learning experiences.

Our days are supported by predictable rhythms and routines, while still leaving plenty of room for spontaneity, child-led exploration, and the unexpected discoveries that happen when children spend meaningful time outdoors.

We believe children deserve an education that engages their whole selves - their head, heart, and hands!

Our Waldorf-rooted approach recognizes that early childhood is a sacred and critical stage of development. Rather than focusing on pushing academics earlier, we focus on creating the foundations that allow children to become confident, capable, curious learners.

At Seedlings, we believe young children learn through doing and through meaningful experiences in the natural world.

Through movement.

Through play.

Through relationships.

Through imitation.

Through repetition.

Through imagination.

Our Daily Rhythm

Our days follow a gentle rhythm inspired by Waldorf early childhood education.

Rather than rushing from one scheduled activity to the next, we create a predictable flow that allows children to settle into their environment and become deeply engaged in their play. A typical day may include:

Our rhythm changes with the seasons and the needs of the children. We believe rhythm and repetition create security while variation keeps curiosity alive.

Every Family Has a Place Here

At Seedlings Kindertribe, we believe families come in many beautiful forms, and every family deserves to feel welcomed, respected, and included in our community. We honor and celebrate the unique cultures, traditions, identities, values, and experiences that each family brings to our school.

We welcome families of all backgrounds and family structures and strive to build genuine partnerships with parents and caregivers. We believe children thrive when the important adults in their lives feel connected, respected, and supported.

There is no one way to be a family, and there is no one way to grow. At Seedlings, we make room for every family to put down roots, feel a sense of belonging, and grow alongside us.

When families join Seedlings Kindertribe, they are joining more than a preschool. They are joining a community! A place where children are seen and appreciated. Where muddy boots are welcome. Where imagination is protected. Where the seasons shape our experiences. Where children are encouraged to care for one another and the world around them. Where stories, songs, art, gardening, building, and free play are part of everyday life. And where childhood is still allowed to feel like childhood.

Our hope is that the children who spend their early years with us leave with more than memories. We hope they leave with confidence in themselves, compassion for others, a sense of belonging, and a lifelong love for the natural world.
